The same day that I updated Bill and Mimi's situation they both had some setbacks. Mimi choked and ended up in the hospital with an emergency scope of her esophagus. They were unable to stretch her esophagus, but hopefully convinced her that she has to be on an all-liquid diet. They bumped up her pre-radiation appointment to Wednesday and she started radiation today. She'll continue the radiation for 4 weeks and hopefully the tumor will shrink so she can eat again.
As for Bill, he is still struggling and I think the rest of us are struggling to come to terms with his battle as well. Carol went in to work, which she loved, and resigned on Tuesday. She is overwhelmed with Bill's illness and her own battle with Parkinson's disease, which has now moved into her legs. We are all hoping that she will be able to rest and spend more time with Bill over the coming weeks.
