Tomorrow will mark a full week that Jessica and Evan have been here. I think everyone is finally finding their place and getting settled in. We went to see "Knight and Day" on Sunday and had our first experience of trying to keep the expenses down with two additional family members. I thought ahead and took some brown paper lunch bags to divide up the popcorn. Rich and I always share a drink, so Jess and Evan did as well. I had a free movie ticket to use and received a free drink when we bought our tickets, so it really didn't end up being much more than what Rich and I would normally spend.
We introduced the kids to the Mi Rancho crew last night and to Jennie and Landon during lunch yesterday. This week we are going to focus on finalizing their "chore chart." So far, Jessica has been instrumental in getting stuff done around the house. Last night, the kids continued their routine of Wednesday night "clean out", that started at the A-Home, by cleaning and vacuuming their rooms, sanitizing the bathroom and helping out with the kitchen. When Jess said that she was going to work on the baseboards and windex her bedroom window, I just about fell over. Is she my long lost child or what? She is spending the night with a friend this evening as a reward for working so hard this week. Evan has not been quite so enthusiastic about his chores, but we're working on it.;) He has to weed and put down some mulch tomorrow, which might be a little more appealing to him.
