Thanksgiving Break

First of all, I can't believe this is my last day off! Don't get me wrong, the break was wonderful, but I still have about 100 things on my to-do list. It seems like the more I do, the longer the list gets. I just finished wiping down four doors from top to bottom. It's amazing the amount of crud that builds up on each crevice in the door. This is one of those jobs that only makes me feel better for doing it because Rich can't even tell what I've done until I show him the difference between a dirty door and a clean one. Another one of those thankless jobs is cleaning the baseboards. I cleaned the baseboards in the two upstairs bathrooms, which I must say was long overdue. So, while I'm thankful that some cleaning is done, it really makes me notice how much more is needed.

The one area that I'm quite annoyed with is the front porch. This is where Jerry and Mike would smoke outside and where they would enter the house so it is filthy. I thought I would get going on the cleaning this morning so that I could put up all of our outside Christmas decorations, but then realized that this entire area needs to be power washed, along with the front windows. I'm a bit frustrated with all of it, especially now that I've cleaned the dog slobber/snot covered windows on either side of the door, and can't go any further. At this point I may not even put up the decorations because who knows when we'll be able to get a power washer and get this stuff done.

I seriously need a good week off with nothing else to do other than clean and organize this house now that the boys are out. I did not make any progress on switching Hailey's room, removing wallpaper or painting. Maybe I'll get it done over Christmas break if my wrist will hang in there. Each time that I have to scrub something I'm left with a weak and achy wrist that just quits on me. No matter how many breaks I take it just doesn't seem to get better. I have another ganglion cyst that has been sitting there for at least a month and just won't break. By the end of the day my hand feels like an ice cube because there is such poor circulation. Do they do wrist replacement surgery??

Anyhow, Thanksgiving was nice and uneventful. We had lunch at Mimi's house and then went to Bill and Carol's to visit before dropping Hailey off for her Thanksgiving meal with her mom. I took my camera, but then totally forgot about taking pictures because each visit was short and sweet.

Becky looked great, all slim and trim:) She is starting to feel better now and will hopefully continue her recovery without any problems.

Bill is moving around a little more now, but he still has to take it easy because he has a drainage tube that will start to bleed if he moves too much. It's hard to believe that it has already been six weeks since surgery. He goes back to the oncologist tomorrow and then back to the urologist on Friday. The original prognosis had him returning to work within 6-8 weeks, but that is not going to happen so he is on long-term disability for now.
