Father's Day

Alright, the last post of the night, I think. What is this, like 6?? This is what happens when you wait to download pictures!

Anyhow, we had my parents, Rich's parents, Randy and Jo, Mimi and Becky, Mike and Brianna, and Jessica and Evan (more on these two later) over for a Father's Day cookout. Hailey was pumped to have another "par-tay" for Papa and Daddy.

(Playing with Becky or "Bucky" if you are Hay Hay.)

(Hailey and Daddy)

("Bucky, you so funny!")

(Bill and Dixie taking a much needed nap.)

(Evan, Jack, and Jessica)

Alright on to these two teenagers...Some of you know the story already, but here is the brief version. I taught both of these kiddos in one way or another. Jessica and Evan both participated in the After Study program and Jesi ran track with me this spring. Over time I have developed a good relationship with both kids, which can be a difficult task. Last month they were taken into the foster care program. I felt like this was the time for me to step up and do what I've said for the last two years - "if i could take them in, it would all be okay." So, here we are.

These two will be moving in with us July 2nd, if all continues to go smoothly. We've already been approved after completing FBI background checks, interviews and a home study. Rich has worked really hard to finish up the basement bedroom over the last couple of weeks for Evan. Although when we had the kids over for the cookout Jesi already "called" the basement. Um, sorry dear that isn't happening. I think we lessened our anxiety and theirs by having them meet the entire family and see the house. I was pretty impressed with the relative ease that they found their place within the family.

(After being tackled by Jack, these two are now buddies.)

(Jesi's photography skills at work with Jackal.)

(Mimi was woken from her nap by this cutie.)

(Papa scratching his lottery tickets from Hay Hay.)

(Hay Hay's new best friend. Poor Evan had to sit next to her while eating, read to her and play kitchen with her. She even cried when we dropped him off.)

(Mom, Dad, and Mike)

(Finally! Hay Hay gets to try out her pool.)

("Whoops!)

(Sliding!)

(Check out that face as she attacks any bystanders!)

(Shooting Daddy with her giraffe)

(This is what happens when you listen to Hay Hay. "Daddy, Daddy, come closer, come closer!")

(Ready for an ambush.)

(Hailey burrito. She thinks she is a baby again.)

(Jessica's one eyed pose. She's a photobooth junkie:))
