"Hon-EY"

It never ceases to amaze me what toddlers pick up from their surroundings. I'm sure I've probably told this story before, but it's hysterical, probably more in a "you had to be there" type of way, but funny nonetheless.

Not that I nag Rich about cleaning or turning down the television or chewing with his mouth closed, or anything like that, but sometimes out of frustration I yell, "HONEY!" Usually followed by what I need/want him to do. Well, apparently Hailey has been picking up on this because a couple weekends ago when it was bedtime she decided to mock me, which toddlers do, but she actually did it in the most appropriate situation. Rich was trying to get her to wind down a bit and read a few books before putting her to bed, but obviously wasn't trying hard enough because he still had Myth Busters on and blaring.

Hailey had her books piled in Rich's lap patiently waiting to be read to while I was cleaning up in the kitchen. As I was doing the dishes I saw Hailey look up at Rich and say quietly, "honey." This was followed by a louder, "HONEY!" and then a tap on the chest and another, "HON-EY!!!" I guess I'm not the only one that fails to get his attention when Myth Busters is on. He was completely oblivious to the entire situation until I pointed it out to him, by yelling "HON-EY!" from the kitchen.
