Please save me from the mess that has invaded my living room and foyer! We had to completely empty Mike's old room (Hailey's new room) in order to paint the walls and clean the carpet. This means all of the crap that was in his room is now in our living area. It didn't take too long to finish the painting this morning. We chose a khaki/tan color, probably a tad darker than I would like liked, but such is life.
Once the painting and clean up was complete we rented a Rug Doctor and went to town on the carpets. I'm pretty impressed with how clean the carpet got after a little TLC. It stinks that it takes hours for the darn carpet to dry after it has been cleaned. I finally just finished moving most of Hailey stuff into her new room while at the same time Rich moved the rest of the stuff out of her old room into the living room, great huh? He did however get the carpet cleaned in what will be the new office/guest bedroom or if Rich gets his way game room. This way the carpet will dry over night and hopefully I can get a lot of the crap put away tomorrow. I've already started a Goodwill pile and have thrown out a lot of trash.
It has been challenging setting up Hailey's room to not only be a bedroom, but also her playroom. I bought lots of containers today to organize all of her little toys so that they fit nicely in her closet. I'm still debating whether or not to move her kitchen into her room to get it out of the living room. I'm super frustrated that I can not move the stuff that I've packed up for storage (Hailey's clothes that don't fit, toys she's outgrown, etc.) to the basement. The basement is still covered in dust from the addition of the bedroom, so for now I'll have to keep this stuff upstairs either in a closet or who knows where.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll get the house back into somewhat of decent shape tomorrow so that I can spend my last day off relaxing rather than running around this house like a mad woman. I'm so tempted to start loading the car up with "stuff" to take to Goodwill because I'm in one of those moods to purge things from my life. I honestly don't think that we have an enormous amount of stuff, but a one bedroom apartment with bare necessities is sounding very appealing right now.
Yes, yes the pictures will be posted once things are in order and if you're lucky before I do my art/craft projects for Hailey's decor. Otherwise you may be waiting a few weeks/months for me to complete the fun stuff that I don't really have time for.
