Please hold...

...while we play annoying music in your ear for 46 minutes straight! Thank you to Bank of America for making it nearly impossible to speak to a living breathing soul. More annoying than the "please continue to wait" recording is the fact that they don't do the "push one for home loans, push two for refinance", etc. Instead you get a recording of a 'sweet' voice asking you questions! I wanted to punch that lady in her nose every time she asked a question and then inevitably did not understand my response. "I'm sorry, let's try that again." Aghh.

Enough of the complaining, the point is that I was actually able to get a lot accomplished today, although it took me FOREVER. I can wholeheartedly say that I don't think that I could make it in the business world. I hate talking to people, hate doing paperwork, and hate entering crap on the computer. Anyhow, I was able to eventually speak to a live person on the phone who is sending out a packet of information on home loan modification. I checked out the Making Home Affordable site and thought that we may possibly qualify for a mortgage modification and the good news is that we are pre-approved. Now we just have to wait on the packet, fill it out, and wait on the loan negotiator to call us back. I'm hoping it gets here sooner than the 45 days it could take.

On to number two of my accomplishments, which was actually number one on the list. Our taxes are finished and filed electronically!

Number three, since our taxes are complete I was able to file Rich's FAFSA form online for the upcoming school year. You have until July to fill out the forms, but to ensure you qualify for the most financial aid it's important to get them in early! This is by far the earliest I've ever filled out the form for myself or for Rich. Again, because our income has dropped dramatically the estimated family contribution also dropped tremendously, so I'm hoping he'll get more aid for the summer and fall semesters.

Now I'm off to get dog food, pick up heartworm pills and pray for the roads to stay icy for another day! Just imagine what I could do if I had tomorrow off?!
