We tend to stay at home most weekends because we have Hailey with us, but this weekend is going to be a busy one. On Saturday Rich will be doing electrical side work and I will be attending Mimi's surprise 80th birthday party at Golden Corral....ssshhhhh. Mimi turns the big 8-0 tomorrow! Saturday night we've been invited to Annie's engagement party, but unless Rich finishes up early and we get a babysitter then we won't be able to go. Sunday is Valentine's Day, and we actually have something to do...3rd row seats at the Phil Vassar concert!
Heather, the math teacher across the hall, goes to just about every event at the Paramount Theater so she has VIP status. A few months ago she told me that she got several tickets to see Phil Vassar on Valentine's Day. Phil Vassar attended JMU and grew up in Lynchburg so I was super excited to hear that he would be playing here. However, there was no way that we could afford to buy the tickets. Lucky for us, Heather gave us tickets in exchange for Rich's help installing doors at her house. I really lucked out with this deal;)
We will be in the 3rd row so as Kimberly put it, "it will feel like a private concert". She was in the third row for Darius Rucker and said it was unbelievable. Kimberly and Paul will also be joining us for this concert! And, we may, just may, get to meet Phil if he decides to come out early. Thanks to Heather we'll be in the VIP lounge before the show, a spot where many artists come out and have a drink before going on stage. I'll keep you posted if I get any autographs:)
Monday has yet to be determined as a work day or regular school day. As of now, it is considered a work day, but the school board is making a proposal this evening to change the day to a school day because of all of the time that we've missed over the last two weeks. Last week the only day we went to school was Thursday and that was with a 2-hour delay. I haven't heard the word on tomorrow yet, but we haven't been to school yet this week and it's already Thursday! I did tutor for 2 hours on Monday, but other than that I've been catching up on a LOT of television:)
