Finally, we received good news for once, although it was a bit confusing! Rich was waitlisted this spring because he had no completed his math class yet. As soon as his grades were posted for the spring semester, we sent his transcripts from BRCC and PVCC to JMU. I also requested that a copy of the transcripts get sent to our house.
Last week we received his PVCC transcript, but not a copy of the BRCC transcript. I didn't think much about it because they probably had different mailing dates. However, on Saturday Rich received a letter with that famous first line, "We regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission at this time." Rich was upset and confused at this news as was I. The letter went on to say that that he needed another year of school, all A's and B's, etc. He had more than fulfilled all of these requirements, so he made a few phone calls and left messages since it was the weekend.
Luckily, Monday morning JMU admissions called to say that they had made a mistake. They hadn't received the BRCC transcript which showed the math class had been taken. Whew! I know Rich is pumped about getting in and being able to start new classes in the fall. Right now he needs to finish up four summer classes.
I am super excited that he will be going to JMU like the rest of this family:) We could have our own Duke Club. Now, if I can get him to hit the gym and workouts, maybe I can convince him to try out for JMU football...HA. I think it's a little too late for that!
We visit Harrisonburg quite frequently and it is astonishing how quickly the campus is changing. A couple of weeks ago, we picked up Chipotle and had lunch at the gorgeous Edith J. Carrier Arboretum. If we weren't married already, I would love to get married here!
