Rich is finally on the mend. He subbed a half day yesterday and full day today, but is quite worn out now. I am also exhausted from a long stressful week at school. I had meetings every morning before school, as well as parent conferences Thursday evening from 4:30-8:00. To top all of this off, I got a migraine and vomited all night Wednesday before having to put in a 12 hour day on Thursday. I have been coughing up my lungs all week as well and probably got two hours of sleep last night.
Leslie and I have been spending every planning period for the last two weeks finalizing details for our field trip to Triple "C" Camp and Walnut Creek next week. I've planned field trips in the past and know that they are stressful, but this by far has been the worst. It has been a logistical nightmare trying to get all 250 sixth graders scheduled for a trip that can only accommodate 80 students at a time. I am anxiously awaiting Monday to kick off our first trip to see how it goes! The kids are going to spend half the day canoeing at Walnut Creek and the other half of the day doing a creek walk, water quality testing, and a macroinvertebrate count at Triple "C".
I am waiting to get the okay from our principal to take on the position of After-Study teacher. The aid that was running After-Study resigned last week so I am filling in Monday through Thursday next week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that no one else will apply for the position so that I can continue to run the program four days a week. We need the extra income and it'll be nice not to spend gas on driving to another part-time job.
Next week will be another long one, but it will end with Megan's rehearsal dinner Friday night and wedding on Saturday! I can't wait to see everyone and celebrate this exciting time! The following weekend we will be celebrating Hailey's first birthday with a small party at our house. I've decided against the doggie theme, even though I'd love to do it! I just don't have the energy to do it the way that I wanted to. So, we are going with butterflies and I'm happy to say that we spent a whole $7 on decorations, plates, cups, etc. Gotta love the Dollar Store!
