Wind Turbine

We recently received a grant of $250,000 at our school to install a wind turbine and solar panels. This is the biggest grant that I can recall anyone ever attempting and a huge success to receive it! Renewable energy is part of my curriculum, so today we invited UVA students to talk to our 6th grade students about the Wind for Schools grant and explain how wind turbines work. They did an excellent job connecting with my students! We also received a life size educational model of the actual wind turbine that will be installed in February, which was very cool to check out. Here's the link to the NBC29 News story, although I know you are all heartbroken that you didn't get to see me on the news;) Thanks for the shoutout, Becky. I totally forgot to record it myself:)
