I happen to LOVE coloring contests, which is no surprise considering that I won quite a few when I was younger. It's too bad my artistic talent stopped at age 8. I think Hailey may be following in my footsteps. She was just as excited as I was when I found the Kline's coloring contest page in our local paper. All I had to do was get out the crayons, put the paper on the table and this girl was off to the races. I made sure to tell her that she had to try her hardest to stay in the lines and pick beautiful colors, but then I left her alone to complete her masterpiece.
Typically, Hailey will color for a couple of minutes, get frustrated that she can't stay in the lines and then walk away or make an angry scribble. This time she hung in there until her "hand hurt". She took a break to play with her dolls and then actually came back to finish it up. I guess it might have helped that I told her she would get ice cream when we turned it in:) But seriously, I can not believe what a fantastic job she did staying in the lines and picking out appropriate colors with no guidance!
