I felt horrible Thursday afternoon at school, but I wasn't sure if it was just because I was tired and annoyed with all the other crap teachers have to do besides actually teach or if I was actually starting to get sick. When I got home and realized that taking the dogs out seemed like an exhausting task, I figured I'd better take my temperature. I had a fever, a headache (what else is new?), and then started getting chills. However, after some Advil, I was able to sleep through the night and get up for school in the morning.
Friday started out okay, but by lunch time when the Advil wore off I started to feel horrible again. I knew I could push through the day because I had planning at the end of the day and could leave early. At 3:00, I went to the office to sign-out, but then made the decision to call the doctor because the thought of being miserable over a three day weekend was more than I could handle. Amazingly, they let me come right in to get checked out. Dr. S took one look at my throat and said, "yuck". He didn't even have to do a strep test. In two minutes I had my Rx and was out the door. I felt HORRIBLE last night..thought my head was going to explode and my throat was killing me. This morning was better, but I'm feeling rough again now that it is late in the day.
I'm not sure where the germs came from...was it Hailey from last weekend? was it new germs from Jess and Evan being in school? was it JMU germs from Rich? or was it good ole germs from my students? I think the bleach will be out in full force tomorrow. Thank goodness Jess and Evan are good about washing their paws.
