Random Moments

It seems like each week Hailey does not just add words to her vocabulary or grow longer hair, but her personality also continues to emerge. She has been hysterical the last few weekends, sometimes with what she says and other times with what she does. Friday evening she dropped her crayons while eating at Mrs. Rowe's and yelled out, "OH my God!". I thought Grandma was going to fall out of her seat laughing!

After playing in the snow last weekend Hailey has become obsessed with putting on her hat, from last year that is way too small, her gloves and boots. This is what she looked like five minutes after I put her PJ's on for bed.
Put your dukes up!
Here she is again with a different hat on feeding the doggies cheerios from her teacup.

Saturday evening we visited with Shaun, Jennie and Landon. Hailey chased the cats, Atlantis and Seven, around as usual and had a ball playing with Jennie and Landon. Landon has lots of fun toys and puzzles that kept Hailey busy for hours. Jennie is her new best pal, maybe because she resembles Julie or just has that nuturing touch, but Hailey would have gladly stayed in Jennie's arms all night.

One of the newest facial expressions that we've encountered.....frustration!

Back to happily putting puzzles together with Jennie....

Hailey has also recently become scared of just about anything; the dark, spiders, monkeys, loud noises, etc. Last weekend she had a bad dream about spiders, jumped out of her crib and ended up on the couch before I could even jump up after hearing her screams. She clearly told me that she was scared of spiders in her crib. Maybe we ought to stop singing The Itsy Bitsy Spider for a bit? The other issue is that she sleeps in the same bed with her sister, Ali, during the week so it makes it a lot harder for her to sleep by herself. We've been putting her down in our bed or on the couch for the last couple of months before transferring her to the crib, which seems to help.

I am hoping the "i'm scared" or "it's going to get me" stage will be over sooner than later because there is only so much you can do to calm a two year old's fears. Jennie and I put Landon's "scary monkeys", that Hailey used to play with, away in the closet only to have a plastic bag fall over and make it seem like the monkeys were trying to get out of the closet to "get her". We just couldn't win that battle...the bags scared me too:)

This is hysterical. Olivia loves taking all her clothes off but recently has wanted to put her hat on. She met Brad at the door on Thursday Night totally naked, no diaper, but did manage to get her hat on. And she too yells "OH MY GOD".
