House Work

Alright, the pictures below are horrible quality because it was dark in the basement and I didn't have the patience to get the camera to work with me, but it gives you a rough idea of what we did this weekend. Rich bought a projector so that the video games could leave the upstairs...hallelujah! However, it works out for all of us because we can watch big screen movies together and the kids have a place to go if they have friends over.

We bargain shopped, and will continue to do so, for everything in the basement. I got $3 lamp shades for old lamps I had, found clearance slipcovers for the couch and chair at Walmart and Target. It's a good thing they have the same colors in them. And, we got an enormous rug courtesy of Mimi. The rest of the room is still fairly messy, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone but me:) We still need to get the whiteboard for the projector image and frame it in, but that will be another day. I'm hoping we can continue to finish the basement piece by piece over the next year or two. Evan's room looks fantastic, so I know we can do it.

I've also been on a major clean up kick around the exterior. We put down lyme, ironite, fertilizer, and grass seed over the last two weeks. Evan is finishing up all of the edging this week and we'll lay down some fresh mulch next weekend. All the bushes are trimmed and I'm going to check out the prices of some leyland cypresses this week. And, I have an estimate out for powerwashing the exterior. That needs to be done before I'm willing to put of Christmas ornaments. We were approved for our home loan modification, so now that I know we will be here for a while I am all for putting in the work:)

(Hailey making a playdough mess in no time. Agh, please ignore the background.)

(An idea of how big the image is, although horrible pic.)

Better pictures will be up in the near future.
