ATL here we come!

My doctor's appointment went well this morning. The US was clear and my hCG has dropped to 68. I go back next Thursday for additional blood work. Dr. Bateman needs to follow the numbers until they are under 5. I am hoping that's what we'll get next Thursday. Once we reach 5 then we'll follow up with another hysterosalpingogram (HSG test) to check my tubes. I've already had two of these done. First, when they were diagnosing infertility issues and again just last year because following the test pregnancy rates go up slightly (mainly because it clears the tubes out). Neither of the previous tests showed any damage to my tubes.

We'll be able to see any damage/blockage/destruction of my tubes on the x-rays. Dr. Bateman also discussed the chances of this happening again. Normally, the chances of ectopic pregnancy is 1%. Nice, that I was a lucky part of that 1%! Now that it has happened once it indicates that there is something wrong with my tubes, so the chances go up to 15%. If it happens twice, then the likelihood is more like 50-60% and IUI's would not be considered. The only safe option would be IVF. We'll have to wait and see what the test shows.

Anyhow, the good news is that the physical part of this ordeal is pretty much behind us and we can move on to dealing the emotional part and searching for answers. The other great news is that we are cleared to go on our trip to Atlanta tomorrow to visit Megs and Tim. We fly out at 12:00 tomorrow afternoon from Richmond and get to Atlanta at 2:00. We'll probably grab something to eat, check into the hotel, and then head off to the American Idol Concert. I for one, can not wait to see and hear these guys, especially Kris!:) Saturday we have reservations at Roy's for our anniversary dinner. I'm already planning my meal....

  • Roy’s Island Mai Tai A 1940’s classic with a contemporary twist. A sweet blend of Cruzan White Rum, fresh pineapple, triple sec and Myers Dark Rum for a flavor only found at Roy’s.
  • Sweet Home Waima-Nalo Salad Mixed Spring Greens, Hawaiian Style Creamy Herb Dressing
  • Roy’s Classic Roasted Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi Lobster Cognac Butter Sauce
  • Roy’s Melting Hot Chocolate SoufflĂ© Flourless Chocolate Cake with a Hot, Molten Center; served with Raspberry Coulis and Vanilla Ice Cream
...I know you all are jealous;) The chocolate souffle is quite honestly probably the best thing I have ever eaten! If visiting good friends, seeing Kris Allen, getting away from our house, and eating this souffle does not make me feel better, I don't know what would!
