Evan's Birthday!

Evan's 16th birthday was Saturday, which was also the one year anniversary of Bill's passing.  We decided to celebrate both events with a little cookout at our house.  My mom and Carol came over to hang out as well.  Hailey was attached to Evan's hip all day!  It's a good thing that he was in a great mood and didn't mind entertaining her.  One of her favorite pretend games is to make everyone part of her pretend family for the day.  So, I was "sister", Evan was "brother" and Hailey was "mother" all weekend long.

Hay Hay also lost her first tooth last week!  I'm not convinced that it was wiggled loose, but I haven't been able to talk to Julie about it yet.  The only story I get from Hailey is that Alexzandria pulled it out in the bathroom and it didn't work.  Hmmm.  If her appetite has anything to do with her growing up and loosing teeth then I guess it is just part of life.  This girl is eating as much food as I do these days!

Who is more excited to turn 16?! And, can you see Miss Snaggle tooth's missing bottom tooth?

These two playing with the bubble sword that Hailey picked out for Evan.

Sporting her new bathing suit from Grandma.

So much fun with "brother"!

The amazing chocolate pie that Lori, our CASA worker, brought by for Evan.
As far as all of those grown-up things that 16 year olds do, Evan is going to DMV to get his learner's permit next week because he is at Watermarks Camp with the youth group this week and he opened up his first savings account at our bank on Friday! And, not to leave out Jess....she also opened up a savings account at the bank and was away all weekend at a softball tournament!
