We all know that a good night's sleep is hard to come by, but come on now I don't have a baby of my own to wake me up in the middle of the night yet, so I should be able to get a few hours of sweet slumber. Who am I kidding?
My husband has sleep apnea so I have to deal with "Scuba Steve" either sucking away trying to get some oxygen or the oh so pleasant sound of whistling air coming from the mask that "Scuba Steve" has decided he doesn't need anymore. I have a pack of wild dogs that can't decide whether they'd like to sleep in their designer doggie beds, our bed, or if they'd rather just keep me running to the door because they have doggie irritable bowel syndrome. Do you think "Scuba Steve" even hears any of this nonsense?
Wait, I'm not done yet...I have a 27 year old brother who has been living with us for 5 months now. Since when do grown men have a curfew??? Nope, not in this house...he can stroll in whenever he pleases and guess who is awakened by the pack of wild guard dogs? Did I mention that along with my dear sibling comes a one year old Husky that likes to play at all hours of the night and howl at the moon? Oh yes, and then there is my beautiful niece who often awakes just as the pack of wild dogs decide to relax and my darling brother comes home and is out like a light. Hmmmm, I wonder who grabs the little monkey out of her crib when she's bouncing around like a beach ball first thing in the morning?
All of the sarcasm aside, it is indeed a lovely sight to see all of my angels sound asleep:) I just wish I could get one night of their peaceful slumber.
