Update on Kids

It was decided at the Service Planning Meeting that the kids will start having unsupervised visits with their mother, an increased number of visits, and possibly overnight visits.  This is all in the hopes of having the kids return home in December.  A lot has to happen between now and then for this to become a reality, but it is what we are focused on.  Jessica made it very clear that she does not want to go home and even told her mother this in front of everyone at the meeting.  She had a rough couple of days after the meeting, but is starting to come around again.

I did not realize how much coordinating, emailing, and scheduling would happen with foster kids.  On an average day I get 8-10 emails from social service workers, foster care workers, therapists, CASA workers, etc. It is exhausting trying to get everyone on the same page and really to get anything accomplished at all.  There are all kinds of rules and regulations that have to be followed and appointments that are required so it's no like you can really get around it.  This is one part of the process that I could do without!
