Run Like the Wind...

Finally, I get a break from teaching After Study and some much needed sunshine and exercise! For the next four weeks, I am coaching track on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is well worth the slight pay cut that I am taking to do it. We'll end the short season with two track meets, which are always way too long, but lots of fun.

Yesterday, I took the kids, ALL 56 of them, on a nice LONG run after they ran a warm-up mile. It was so nice to be out in the sun running and sweating. We also did a round of sprints and a five lap cool down. Five miles or so later, I did not feel like I was going to die like I had anticipated, but I felt ALIVE for the first time in what feels like months. Tutoring for two hours after practice did not even phase me and I was in a much more pleasant mood:)

Today, that nice sore and tired feeling is in my legs and I couldn't be more happy. I'll have to put in some miles over the weekend so I can take the kiddos on a longer more scenic run next Tuesday.

I'm so glad you are able to coach track, I know how happy it makes you! Do you push those kids up the hill w/ a lacrosse stick? Ha ha.
